Complex PTSD (CPTSD) Therapy
Hi, I’m Sarah a Manchester psychotherapist working online with clients across the UK and Europe.
I specialise in CPTSD and working with adult survivors of childhood trauma.
Who I work with
I work with adults (18+) who have or supect complex PTSD from childhood trauma, including:
Emotional, physical, or sexual abuse
Emotional neglect or CEN (childhood Emotional Neglect)
Growing up with a narcissistic, abusive, or controlling parent
Feeling unsafe, unloved or alone
I do not work with:
Trauma from military service, war zones, or accidents unrelated to childhood trauma
Domestic abuse unrelated to childhood trauma
What if I’ve already tried therapy?
You’ve tried figuring it out yourself. You’ve meditated, and yes, you’ve tried therapy.
I work with many clients who are on their 3rd or 4th therapist (or more).
I won’t explain things you already know. My clients love to research and they already know a lot about trauma.
You don’t need more info, you need to learn to connect with your emotions because that will help you understand yourself and others better.
I won’t leave you with some vague idea that you ‘already have the answers inside of you’.
I’ll help you understand your emotions (and manage them)
We’ll look at what you need to change and how.
Individual therapy sessions
1:1 sessions, usually weekly, 50 minutes each (can be twice per month if appropriate).
Online via Zoom, get the best fit for you not the closest therapist.
I’ve been told many times by clients that I ‘speak like a real person’ and I won’t leave you to figure it all out for yourself.
Trauma informed therapy.
How to know if we’re a good fit
You’re probably ready to work with me if:
You’re willing to take responsibility for change, but want guidance on how to do it.
You want more than empathy and listening, you want challenge to see what’s not working.
You’re willing to take responsibility for thinking and working on issues between sessions too.
You’re open to trying new ways of handling things (even if they feel awkward at first).
You’d rather work with someone who’s lived through trauma, not just read about it in a textbook.
Other ways to work together
If individual therapy isn’t right for you right now:
Group Therapy for Trauma Survivors → a short intro to connect with others who understand.
Healing Childhood Trauma Course → online course to work at your own pace.
