Childhood Trauma Therapy
You feel empty inside.
You’ve spent your whole life searching for something without knowing what that something is.
Maybe it’s another jumper, another date, another promotion, another app. It helps for a bit. But it never sticks.
You’ve read ‘The body keeps the score’, done the yoga, downloaded Headspace, even tried being nicer to yourself. Somehow you wake up with that whisper in your chest: “You’ll never be good enough.”
Signs childhood trauma might still be affecting you
Here are some signs that you might still be struggling with childhood trauma as an adult:
You feel unlovable, even though your friends tell you otherwise.
You deflect compliments like a pro, or laugh them off with a self-deprecating joke.
You don’t understand exactly what happened in your past, but it feels like it’s stalking you.
You never feel good enough, no matter your accomplishments.
You feel out of place in groups, like you missed the instruction manual everyone else got.
Kindness and small gestures of care make you cry, it’s kinda awkward.
You’re too sensitive, or that’s what you’ve been told.
You can’t articulate what’s wrong, and panic when someone notices you’re struggling.
You’re ‘okay’ until you’re not. And then you want to run away.
What if I’ve already tried therapy?
You’ve tried figuring it out yourself. You’ve meditated, and yes, you’ve tried therapy.
I work with many clients who are on their 3rd or 4th therapist (or more).
You don’t need more info, you need to know what you’re missing. I’ve got 15 years experience in pinpointing exactly where you’re stuck.
I won’t leave you with some vague idea that you ‘already have the answers inside of you’.
I’ll help you reconnect with your emotions (and manage them)
We’ll look at what you need to change and how.
Individual therapy sessions
1:1 sessions, usually weekly, 50 minutes each.
Online via Zoom - get the best fit for you not the closest therapist.
No jargon, no leaving you to figure it all out for yourself.
Trauma informed therapy.
How to know if we’re a good fit
You’re probably ready to work with me if:
You’re willing to take responsibility for change, but want guidance on how to do it.
You want more than someone nodding along, you want challenge (and some practical tools).
You’re open to trying new ways of handling things (even if they feel awkward at first).
You’d rather work with someone who’s lived through trauma, not just read about it in a textbook.
Other ways to work together
If individual therapy isn’t right for you right now:
Group Therapy for Trauma Survivors → a short intro to connect with others who understand.
Healing Childhood Trauma Course → online course to work at your own pace.
